We all like to have more leisure time and our daily routine of keeping house and maintaining cleanliness is so mundane and we all wish we could pass for a day and just let it go but in the end it just makes more work and the routine even more tedious and time consuming. With Spring on our doorstep what better time is it to keep up a regular routine to make more time for fun and sunshine. Here are some tips that I find helpful with my daily routine.
Stick to a regular sleep pattern. Try going to bed around the same time each night and rise at the same time each morning. Listen to your body and rest when needed.
Clean the Kitchen before retiring. If you are anything like me I cannot leave the kitchen untidy. I need to make sure all the dishes are done and the counter tops are clean and free of clutter. You will wake up much happier knowing that you can walk into a clean kitchen. I even sweep the floor after a dinner party so then once the breakfast is over I can clean the floors.
Have a breakfast routine. During the school/work week we stick to simple breakfasts except for birthday mornings where something special is allowed be french toast or pancakes. Otherwise save the special breakfasts for weekends where there is more time to relax and enjoy.
Make the bed. It may be easier to make the bed upon rising and then it is one less chore to worry about. It is always so inviting when you retire at the end of the day to know that your bed is made.
Pick up the house every night. Do a quick run through and tidy up by placing everything where it belongs, charge your electronics, turn off unused power points and make sure you know where everything is so in the morning rush they can be found easily. Knowing that there are less chores to do during the day leaves you more time to do what you enjoy most.
Exercise the same time everyday. I like to go for a walk on the treadmill or outside after the girls have gone to school. That way it is done and I do not have to think, 'I have to make time to fit in my walk.'
Leave your bathroom clean. There is nothing worse than walking into a dirty bathroom. Make sure all items are tidied and placed in their appropriate spots and alway put them there after each use. Pick up towels bath mats etc to keep tidy. Use wipes or paper towel to wipe over benches, toilets each evening to keep fresh and inviting.
Keep all mail, paper work, notes and magazines in the same designated place. Then you are bound to know where they all are when needed to pay that bill or other mail to be dealt with when the time arises.
Charge your electronic devices at night. While you are sleeping it is easier to have your electronics charge so they are ready for you the next days use.
Schedule a regular beauty routine. Everyday beauty routines are important to keep you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated for the day ahead. I cleanse my face every day and night with out fail. I cannot go to bed with a face full of makeup. Every morning I cleanse, tone and moisturise my face and apply sunscreen. After each shower I like to replace the moisture my body craves and it is best applied after your shower/bath as it is absorbed better. Every night I wipe my face free of the days make up and then add a heavier moisturiser to absorb into my skin while sleeping.
